Abia State Government Granted Approval to Upgrade Ojukwu Bunker and War Museum for Tourism Boost

The Federal Government has granted Abia State approval to renovate and upgrade the Ojukwu Bunker and National War Museum in Umuahia, following an agreement signed with the National Commission for Museums and Monuments. This initiative, announced by Governor Alex Otti and Commissioner Okei Kanu, aims to transform the state's cultural and historical landscape.

The project will involve retrofitting the two historical monuments to modern standards, enriching visitors' historical experiences and boosting tourism potential. Matthew Ekwurib of the Commission for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy disclosed that work on the sites will commence within a month, emphasizing the importance of preserving history and enhancing the state's tourist attractions.
