FG, De-Sadel to Construct 4,000km High Speed Rail Across Six States

The Federal Government, in partnership with De-Sadel Consortium, has announced plans to construct a 4,000km high-speed rail project across six states in Nigeria. The first phase of the project is expected to take 36 months to complete and aims to revolutionize the country's transportation system while boosting economic growth.

The rail line will connect major cities such as Lagos, Abuja, Kano, and Port Harcourt. The consortium has secured funding for the project, with almost 90% approval from the government.

The project is expected to generate employment opportunities for Nigerian youth, enhance commercial activity, and stimulate economic growth. The Federal Government has approved the outline business case, with the next step being to submit the full business case to the Federal Executive Council.

The partnership with China's Liancai Petroleum Investment Holdings is seen as reliable and beneficial for the project.
