Nigerian Government Decries Road Vandalism, Calls for Protection of National Assets

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Ministry of Works, has raised alarm over the increasing cases of vandalism on newly constructed roads across the country. Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, condemned the destructive activities of hoodlums along the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Expressway project.

The government warned against the removal of safety rails, damaging concrete pavements, and converting portions of highways for illegal activities. The Ministry urged traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents to take ownership of public infrastructure to safeguard national assets and ensure their protection.
