Federal Government and Edo State Partner to Modernize Nigeria's Livestock Sector

The Federal Government and Edo State have agreed to partner in modernizing Nigeria's livestock sector, with a joint initiative aimed at accelerating livestock development and modernizing the meat value chain. The Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, praised Edo State for creating a dedicated ministry for livestock development, emphasizing the importance of investing in policies to modernize the entire value chain.

The collaboration will involve initiatives such as establishing modern abattoirs, ranches, and veterinary infrastructure to boost food security and create job opportunities. Edo State is poised to become a major livestock hub in the South-South region.
