Nigerian Government Ends Revenue Deductions, Orders Full Remittance for Fiscal Reform

The Nigerian government has announced the end of revenue deductions by agencies like FIRS and NUPRC, directing them to remit all revenues to the Federation Account for distribution among federal, state, and local governments. This move, part of ongoing fiscal reforms, aims to enhance transparency and accountability in public finance.

President Bola Tinubu's administration seeks to ensure that government spending yields tangible results. Additionally, ongoing social protection programs are being implemented to support vulnerable Nigerians.

The reforms also include biometric identification for beneficiaries and aim to cover 50 million Nigerians by the end of the year.
