Nigerian Government Shuts Down Fake UK and US-Affiliated Universities

The Nigerian Federal Government, through the National Universities Commission (NUC), has identified and shut down several unlicensed universities in Nigeria falsely claiming affiliation with UK and US institutions. The NUC issued a public notice warning against these "Degree Mills" operating illegally in violation of national education standards.

Among the closed institutions are Christians Charity American University of Science and Technology, Collumbus University UK, Tiu International University UK, Pebbles University UK, External Studies UK, University Ikeja Study Centre, Concept London, and Houdegbe North American University. This crackdown aims to uphold educational quality and standards in the country.
