FG Supports Nigeria Press Council's Tourism Compendium

On a recent visit to the State House in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima pledged the Federal Government's support for the Nigeria Press Council's (NPC) National Economic and Tourism Compendium. This initiative aims to document and promote the economic and tourism potential of Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Shettima emphasized President Bola Tinubu's commitment to fostering an independent press and creating an environment conducive for journalists to operate without harassment. He noted that the administration has been supportive of media organizations and has tolerated a high threshold for incendiary remarks.

The compendium is expected to enhance Nigeria's visibility in tourism and cultural heritage, attracting investments and global recognition. Shettima also expressed hope that the document would facilitate the sale of Nigeria's tourism assets and cultural treasures, while NPC's Executive Secretary, Dr.

Dili Ezughah, acknowledged the importance of the Vice President's strategic direction in developing the compendium.
