The Federal Government has successfully raised N6.69 billion through its September 2026 Savings Bond, offering annual interest rates of 14.12% for a two-year bond and 15.12% for a three-year bond. According to the Debt Management Office (DMO), the offer ran from September 7 to 11, 2026, and attracted 1,690 subscriptions for the two-year bond and 3,209 for the three-year bond, with settlement scheduled for September 16.
The N1.282 billion was allotted to the two-year bond, while N5.408 billion was allotted to the three-year bond. This issuance marks an increase from the N5.86 billion raised in August and contributes to a total of approximately N40.5 billion raised through the Federal Government's Savings Bond in the first nine months of 2026.
The DMO's previous offers in 2026 included N6.341 billion in January and N5.913 billion in February. The bonds are designed to provide retail investors access to government securities while enabling the government to raise funds domestically.
