Fresh Charges Planned Against Fake PFIPC Director Adeyemi

Fresh Charges Planned Against Fake PFIPC Director Adeyemi

The federal government is preparing to file fresh charges against Adeniyi Adeyemi, who is accused of being the fake director-general of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). The initial eight-count criminal charge against Adeyemi was dismissed by Justice Mohammed Garba Umar at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Rotimi Oyedepo, the director of the Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF), moved for the termination of the charges, stating that a review by the attorney-general of the federation and minister of justice revealed legal loopholes in the case. Oyedepo indicated that the alleged forgeries committed by Adeyemi were more appropriate for prosecution in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Following no objections from Ibrahim Angulu, who represented Adeyemi, Justice Umar struck out the charges. Adeyemi, aged 38, was previously being tried alongside two other individuals, Femi and Anu, whose locations are currently unknown, on charges of conspiracy and forgery.
