Nigerian Filling Stations Cut Petrol Prices Below NNPC's Rate Amid Import Surge

Several major filling stations in Nigeria have reduced petrol prices below the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation's (NNPC) rate following a surge in petrol imports. Ardova filling station, for instance, is selling petrol at N890 per liter, below the NNPC's rate of N900-N910 per liter.

This development comes as a total of 149,500 metric tons of premium motor spirit (petrol) arrived in the country, with expectations of more inflows. Dangote Petroleum Refinery has also adjusted its petrol price to N877 per liter, coinciding with its plan to increase output to 1.4 million barrels per day, surpassing the world's largest refinery in India.
