Blue Lagos Launches Solar-Powered Boreholes in Lagos

Blue Lagos, in partnership with Uriel Construction Limited, has begun constructing five solar-powered borehole projects in selected riverine communities across four local government areas in Lagos State. Sponsored by the Koh Pbat Campaign Team, these projects target areas facing water-access challenges, including Seje Jegba in Badagry, Sagbonkodji in Amuwo-Odofin, Olomometa in Ojo, and Agadangba and Igbo Apawa in Epe.
The initiative aims to improve access to safe water for domestic use, alleviate the difficulties residents face in obtaining safe water, and enhance sanitation and public health. The solar-powered systems are designed to provide a sustainable water supply, reducing reliance on conventional electricity sources.
The Lagos State Waterways Authority contributed by donating life jackets to improve safety for residents using the waterways. Mr Saheed Adesanya, Team Lead of Blue Lagos, emphasized the commitment to ensuring that underserved coastal and riverine communities are included in development opportunities.
