First Lady of Nigeria Calls for Support to End HIV/AIDS by 2030

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu urged Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's "Renew Hope" agenda to achieve a HIV-free Nigeria by 2030. Speaking at the 2025 World AIDS Day event in Abuja, she emphasized the importance of sustained advocacy and innovation to combat stigma and discrimination surrounding HIV/AIDS.

The government has approved $200 million to support HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria programs, with a focus on ensuring long-term ownership and responsibility at the national level. Efforts are being made to encourage open discussions about HIV/AIDS, improve access to testing, and address stigma, especially among young people.
