Lagos truck collision injures five passengers at Berger

Five passengers sustained serious injuries after a 40-foot HOWO truck collided with two commercial buses at Berger Bus Stop, inward Kara Bridge, in the Ojodu area of Lagos State. The incident involved an interstate commercial Mazda bus and a Toyota Hiace bus, both carrying passengers.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) reported that the truck, traveling out of Lagos, crashed into the two buses, injuring several occupants. LASTMA operatives quickly responded, rescuing five seriously injured individuals, including three females and two males, one of whom was the driver.

The victims were transported to the Lagos State Emergency and Trauma Centre at the Toll Gate for urgent medical care, with assistance from security personnel at Isheri Police Station. The crash caused significant traffic congestion, with vehicle queues extending to Otedola Bridge.

LASTMA evacuated the vehicles involved to prevent secondary accidents and restore traffic flow. The agency handed over the vehicles to the police for further investigation.

Olalekan Bakare-Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, expressed sympathy for the injured and emphasized the importance of responsible driving and vehicle maintenance.
