CAF Expels Kenya and Zimbabwe from AFCON 2023 Qualifiers

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the expulsion of Kenya's Harambee Stars and Zimbabwe's Warriors from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification race. This decision was made due to political interference by the football federations of both countries, including in the official draw process.

The suspensions will be lifted two weeks before the first qualifying game, but Kenya and Zimbabwe failed to meet the criteria required by FIFA Congress. As a result, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) will be considered losers and eliminated from the competition.

The tournament will feature three teams in Group C, with the first runner-up team qualifying for the final tournament.
