Nigerian Army to Overhaul Training Schools and Curricula Amid Rising Security Threats

The Nigerian Army is set to revamp its training schools and curricula in response to the growing complexity of security threats in Nigeria. Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, revealed the overhaul plan during the annual conference in Lagos.

The focus is on building a more professional and adaptable combat-ready force, with special attention given to training and employing special forces and army aviation. The reform aims to enhance intelligence capabilities, surveillance, target acquisition, reconnaissance, and cyber operations.

Additionally, the Army is prioritizing personnel welfare, addressing accommodation shortages, and improving post-service housing.
