Dele-Balogun Prize for Flash Fiction Celebrates African Writers

The Dele-Balogun Prize for Flash Fiction aims to celebrate and reward writers of African descent worldwide. Established by Toheeb Dele-Balogun, the prize offers a cash award of 500,000 and mentorship opportunities to emerging voices in the literary space.

Writers are invited to submit original works of flash fiction under 200 words capturing the essence of complex realities. The theme for 2025 is centered on stories that challenge societal norms and speak bold truths.

Entries are open to writers of African descent regardless of where they live, with a panel of judges to be announced soon.
