Former AGF Abubakar Malami Spends Night in EFCC Custody Amid Corruption Probe

Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General of Nigeria, was interrogated by the EFCC as part of a corruption probe, spending a night in custody. The investigation centers on at least 46 bank accounts allegedly linked to Malami, including transactions during his time in office under President Muhammadu Buhari.

Malami's involvement in controversial deals, such as the $496 million payment to Global Steel Holdings Ltd and the repatriation of $321 million Abacha loot from Switzerland, is under scrutiny. Despite this, Malami has declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Kebbi State.
