Tunji Salami Foundation Distributes ₦12m Ramadan Relief

The Tunji Salami Foundation has distributed a relief package worth ₦12 million during Ramadan in Osun, aimed at addressing immediate hunger relief and fostering long-term economic independence among vulnerable populations. According to Maroof Salami, the foundation's director of communications, the initiative focuses on providing essential food items to the elderly and widows, who are often severely affected by food inflation during the festive season.

The relief packages include staples such as rice, beans, semovita, and vegetable oil, designed to sustain households during Eid celebrations. Additionally, the foundation has launched a zakat empowerment scheme for 20 selected individuals, providing seed capital to help them start and expand small-scale businesses.

This financial support is derived from the foundation's zakat fund, aiming to transform beneficiaries into self-reliant entrepreneurs who can contribute to the local economy. The foundation's efforts reflect its commitment to social justice and community upliftment, with the ₦12 million investment underscoring its dedication to the welfare of vulnerable groups.
