Four Crew Members Killed in U.S. Military Aircraft Crash

A U.S. military aircraft, specifically a Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker, crashed in western Iraq at approximately 2 p.m. ET.

Four out of six crew members on board have been confirmed deceased, while rescue operations continue. The incident involved two aircraft, with the second aircraft landing safely and not being attributed to hostile or friendly fire.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) is conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The identities of the deceased service members will not be released until at least 24 hours after next of kin notifications are made. The crash occurred in friendly airspace, and CENTCOM officials have confirmed that the aircraft was operating in the area at the time of the incident.
