Frank Onyeka Joins Coventry City, Rejects Other Offers

Frank Onyeka, a 28-year-old Nigerian international, explained his decision to sign with Coventry City in January, despite interest from Sheffield United and Spanish side Valencia. Onyeka revealed that direct conversations with Coventry's manager, Frank Lampard, played a significant role in his choice to join the Championship club.

He emphasized that his football ambitions were not a factor in his decision. Onyeka's arrival is seen as a statement of intent for Coventry to strengthen their squad under Lampard's guidance.

He aims to make an immediate impact in the midfield, especially ahead of the upcoming fixture against Middlesbrough. In a separate incident, Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi publicly questioned the officiating during their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Iwobi expressed frustration over a challenge by City's Phil Foden on Fulham's Calvin Bassey, which led to a yellow card for Bassey, but Iwobi felt it warranted a harsher punishment.
