Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha experienced a dramatic increase in his Instagram followers, rising from 50,000 to 7.6 million within 24 hours following his remarkable performance in a goalless draw against Spain during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 40-year-old goalkeeper played a pivotal role in securing Cape Verde's first-ever point in a global tournament, delivering a series of outstanding saves against several Spanish stars, including teenage sensation Lamin Yamal.

Vozinha was awarded the Player of the Match for his efforts. Reflecting on the significance of the moment, he expressed emotions about his family and the achievement's importance in his unconventional football career, which began late at age 25.
