Armenia Mandates Invitations for Visitor Visa Applications

Armenia has implemented strict entry requirements for citizens from 57 countries, necessitating a formal invitation to apply for a visitor visa. According to the Armenian government's official website, nationals from this specific group can only apply for a visitor visa at Armenian diplomatic representations or consular posts abroad and must present a valid invitation as part of their application.

This regulation means that unlike travelers from many other regions, these citizens cannot apply online or obtain a visa on arrival. The majority of the countries affected are African nations, with a total of 46 African countries listed, representing various regions across the continent.

This requirement adds an additional layer to the visa application process that travelers from many other countries do not encounter, as those nations often have access to e-visa and visa-on-arrival options.
