Eight countries are currently providing cash incentives to attract new residents as a strategy to combat population decline and stimulate economic activity. Italy offers grants of €30,000 for individuals relocating to regions like Calabria, Sardinia, and Puglia.

Switzerland's village of Albinen provides CHF 25,000 per adult and CHF 10,000 per child for families committing to live there for at least ten years. Japan is addressing demographic challenges by offering ¥1 million per child to families moving from urban centers to rural areas.

Spain, particularly in regions like Asturias and Galicia, provides housing support and job opportunities to attract families and entrepreneurs. Greece targets island communities, such as Antikythera, with housing, land, and monthly stipends to encourage long-term settlement.

Ireland has a program to financially assist the renovation of vacant homes on remote islands. Croatia offers housing subsidies for individuals purchasing and renovating homes in rural areas, while Chile supports entrepreneurs with funding to establish businesses, aiming to attract global talent.
