PDP Hit by Defections as Governors Switch to APC

The defection of Enugu Governor Peter Mbah and Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri to the APC has further weakened the PDP, leaving them with only 8 governors. This move comes as part of a series of defections ahead of the 2023 general elections, with APC now controlling 26 states.

The remaining PDP governors include Ahmadu Fintiri, Bala Mohammed, Seyi Makinde, among others. The defections have caused uncertainty within the PDP, with efforts to stabilize the party ongoing.
