Fury Defeats Wach, Sets Stage for Joshua Showdown

Tyson Fury, a former two-time world heavyweight champion, defeated Mariusz Wach by technical knock-out in Pattaya, Thailand, on Friday. The 37-year-old Fury outclassed the 46-year-old Polish opponent in front of 1,500 spectators, with the fight not broadcast live on television.

Fury's corner pulled Wach out in the seventh round, marking Fury's second victory in two contests this year following a 16-month lay-off. The focus now shifts to Anthony Joshua, who is set to fight Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday.

Joshua, a two-time heavyweight champion, is expected to win, which would pave the way for a long-anticipated clash with Fury. This fight will be Joshua's first professional appearance since a car crash in Nigeria in December that resulted in the deaths of two close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.

Joshua's last competitive fight ended in a knockout loss to IBF world champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in September 2024.
