Nigerian Geology Graduate Transitions to Nursing in UK

A Nigerian man, who graduated in Geology from the Federal University of Owerri (FUTO), has gained attention on TikTok under the username @ifymzy for a video that illustrates his significant life change after relocating to the United Kingdom. The video features a before-and-after clip, starting with scenes of rocky terrain typical for geology students during field trips, followed by footage of him in a nursing uniform at an outdoor hospital setting in the UK.

This transition highlights a broader trend among Nigerian graduates, who often find themselves pursuing different career paths upon moving abroad due to the disparity between their degrees and available job opportunities. The clip resonates with the ongoing "Japa" conversation, a term used to describe the migration of young Nigerians seeking better prospects.

FUTO, located in Owerri, is recognized as one of Nigeria's leading science and technology universities.
