Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi Transitions from Radio to Podcasting

Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, a media personality and fashion entrepreneur, began her career in radio, co-hosting the "Good Morning Nigeria" show on Cool FM in 2005 and later becoming the youngest female program director at Naija FM. In December 2021, she decided to leave radio for new challenges, discovering podcasting as a medium for authentic conversations.

She launched her first podcast in 2019, initially facing difficulties in securing sponsorship despite positive audience feedback. In 2022, she partnered with Multichoice Nigeria to bring her show to the Africa Magic platform, completing 100 episodes.

Although she faced challenges with audience access and sponsorship, her podcast has resonated with viewers, particularly during her recent motherhood-themed episodes. Olateru-Olagbegi also ventured into fashion with her shoe label, GbemiSok, and co-founded the entertainment startup TNC, serving as vice president of marketing for travel company Wakanow.
