Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey will miss Ghana's first World Cup match against Panama due to a visa denial. The match is scheduled for Thursday.

However, Partey is expected to play in Ghana's second match against England on June 23 and the third match against Croatia on June 27. His inability to join the Ghanaian team is linked to ongoing legal issues, as he faces allegations of rape and sexual assault involving four different women in the UK, with a trial set to begin next year.

The bail conditions stipulate that he must not contact the alleged victims. The Ghana National Football Team's participation in the World Cup may be affected by Partey's unavailability for the opening match against Panama.

FIFA has confirmed that the Canadian government’s visa policies do not influence the immigration process for host countries, which ultimately determine visa admissions.
