Golden Eaglets Drawn with Côte d’Ivoire, Niger in WAFU B

The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria have been placed in Group B alongside Côte d’Ivoire and Niger Republic for the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Championship, which will take place in Burkina Faso from October 10 to 23, 2026. The draw occurred on September 3, 2026, at the Stade du 4-Août in Ouagadougou, where seven West African nations were divided into two groups.

Nigeria's participation is significant as they are five-time FIFA U-17 World Cup winners, and they aim to leverage their experience to secure a strong performance in the tournament. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, with the championship also serving as the WAFU Zone B qualifying event for the 2027 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

The Golden Eaglets are currently intensifying their preparations in Abuja and will continue training before heading to Burkina Faso in October.
