Gombe Hospital Seeks Family of Unclaimed Hit-and-Run Victim

The Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe has issued an appeal to the public for help in identifying an unclaimed hit-and-run victim whose body has remained in the hospital's mortuary since his death. The unidentified man, believed to be around 35 years old, was involved in a road traffic accident in the Gombe government reserved area.

According to a statement from the hospital's public affairs unit, the victim was brought to the facility by officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission after being reportedly knocked down by a hit-and-run driver. He was admitted on May 15, 2026, and unfortunately passed away two days later on May 17, 2026.

The deceased is described as 155 centimeters tall with a distinct horizontal tribal mark on his upper cheek. Despite efforts to trace his family, no one has come forward to claim the body.

The hospital urges anyone who recognizes the description to contact the appropriate authorities to facilitate necessary arrangements.
