Kwara Governor Urges Tinubu to Raise Minimum Wage to N100,000

On Friday, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider increasing Nigeria's national minimum wage to N100,000. This request was made during a visit to Lagos, where members of the Nigeria Governors' Forum, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, paid Sallah homage to President Tinubu.

AbdulRazaq emphasized that many states are already paying close to N100,000 as wages and urged the federal government to initiate discussions on establishing a new minimum wage benchmark. He expressed the need for a collaborative effort to move towards this wage increase, indicating that it would receive normal support for implementation.
