Taraba Governor Establishes Committee to Boost Sugar Development

Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefa has approved the establishment of a 23-member joint technical committee to drive the development of the sugar industry in the state.

Chaired by Hon. Jethro Yakubu Zikyengyu Abel Bako Joachim, with the Ministry of Agriculture serving as the secretariat, the committee comprises government agencies, private sector players, farmers, traditional rulers, and community leaders.

The committee's goal is to develop a comprehensive sugar development plan, identify suitable locations for sugar cultivation, mobilize funds, and strengthen the value chain. The Chief of Staff, Dr.

Jeji William MNI, will coordinate the committee's activities and oversee the submission of recommendations to the state government within three months.
