Ijaw Group Inaugurated to Address Community Development Needs

The Ijaw Polit Grassroot Development Movement (IPGDM) was inaugurated to engage stakeholders, especially at the government level, regarding the development needs of Ijaw communities in Delta State. Chief Mulad Sheriff, the convening chairman, stated that the group aims to draw attention to the socio-political pressures faced by these communities, which continue to experience significant underdevelopment despite their substantial economic contributions to the region and the nation.

The group seeks to advocate for change and solicit support from Ijaw individuals to join in training and constructive engagement for the noble cause of sustainable development. The statement emphasized the need for a respectful dialogue to achieve progress and address the basic development needs that have been lacking in Ijaw communities.
