ACP Criticizes Atiku's Presidential Ambitions Impact

The Arewa Citizen Parliament (ACP) has publicly criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for his continuous pursuit of the presidency, asserting that his ambitions are detrimental to the political landscape in Nigeria, particularly for younger leaders. ACP leader Hon. Saidu Jibrin stated that Atiku's nearly three-decade-long quest for the presidency has weakened opposition unity and destabilized political coalitions.

The group emphasized that the focus should shift towards building a disciplined coalition capable of confronting the ruling party, rather than allowing individual ambitions to dominate the political narrative. They warned that the ongoing internal struggles within the opposition, exemplified by the challenges faced by the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, could lead to repeated failures if lessons are not learned.

The ACP called for a new political direction to address pressing issues such as terrorism, poverty, and unemployment affecting the youth in Northern Nigeria.
