Guardiola Receives Two-Match Touchline Ban After FA Cup Incident

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has received a two-match touchline ban after an incident during the FA Cup match against Newcastle United at St. James' Park.

Guardiola was cautioned for his protests regarding a foul on City winger Jeremie Doku by Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier, which led to a yellow card issued by referee Sam Barrott. This incident marked Guardiola's sixth caution of the season, triggering a suspension under Football Association regulations that impose a touchline ban for every three yellow cards received.

As a result, Guardiola will not be present on the touchline when Manchester City faces West Ham United in the Premier League next weekend and will also miss the FA Cup quarter-final scheduled for the first weekend of April. However, this suspension will not affect his presence during the Carabao Cup final on March 22 against Arsenal, as the guidelines exempt finals from automatic touchline bans linked to accumulated cautions.
