Guinea-Bissau head coach Emiliano Té attributed his team's 3-0 victory over Nigeria to their tactical adaptability during the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign. The match took place at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau, where Guinea-Bissau secured their second consecutive win in Group L.

Franculino Djú opened the scoring, followed by Mama Baldé doubling the lead, and Álvaro Djaló sealing the victory in stoppage time. This defeat marked Nigeria's first loss in the qualifying campaign after they had previously won 2-1 against Madagascar.

In his post-match press conference, Té emphasized the importance of tactical football and creating scoring opportunities.
