Hamilton Aims for Historic Ferrari Win at Monza

Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, is targeting his first victory for Ferrari at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, where he could become the first black driver to win for the team. In his second season with Ferrari, Hamilton has previously won at Monza five times, but none in Ferrari colors.

He expressed the significance of potentially breaking new ground at the team's home race, recalling Charles Leclerc's victory in 2019. Hamilton currently trails Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli by 59 points in the championship standings, with 11 rounds remaining.

His chances for victory are bolstered by Antonelli's grid penalty and Ferrari's recent engine upgrade, which aims to close the performance gap with Mercedes. Hamilton acknowledged the pressure of racing in front of passionate Tifosi supporters and shared that his mother would be attending the race, adding a personal touch to the event.
