Pastor Ibiyeomi Claims Role in Wike's Governorship Win

Pastor David Ibiyeomi, founder of Salvation Ministries, revealed during a sermon at his church headquarters in Port Harcourt that he played a significant spiritual role in Nyesom Wike's governorship victory in Rivers State. Ibiyeomi recounted that Wike approached him during a period of uncertainty regarding his political future, particularly when he faced legal challenges over the governorship seat.

According to Ibiyeomi, Wike had lost a high court ruling and an appeal, with the Supreme Court's decision against him looming. The pastor reassured Wike not to fear, asserting that God would intervene.

He mentioned that Wike participated in a five-night prayer program, which he believed contributed to the eventual favorable outcome. Ibiyeomi also indicated that similar concerns arose during Wike's bid for a second term, where political forces were allegedly conspiring against him.

Wike served as governor from 2015 to 2023 and was appointed as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023.
