Obasanjo Explains Bond with Charly Boy Amid Family Ties

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo disclosed in an interview that he became close to popular Nigerian entertainer Charly Boy due to their longstanding acquaintance and familial ties. Obasanjo met Charly Boy through his father, the late Supreme Court Justice Chukwudifu Oputa.

He reflected on the respect he had for Justice Oputa and noted that Charly Boy's eccentric lifestyle, described as "jaga jaga," did not deter him from forming a bond with Charly Boy. Obasanjo admired Charly Boy's mother, whom he described as a moral woman, and acknowledged Charly Boy's care for her.

He emphasized the importance of parents guiding their children to pursue non-criminal paths, reflecting on the lessons learned from his relationship with Charly Boy and his family.
