Helen Eno-Obareki Celebrated for Continuing Mother's Legacy

On August 24th, Lady Helen Eno-Obareki was celebrated in Akwa Ibom State for her birthday and her role as the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady. Governor Umo Eno referred to her as “my dear daughter” and expressed pride in her work since taking over after the passing of his wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, on September 26, 2024.

He emphasized that her appointment was about continuity and family rather than politics. Helen has been instrumental in sustaining the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA), her mother’s signature project, which focuses on supporting vulnerable communities.

In its first year, GIFA provided school supplies to over 15,000 pupils, offered free healthcare through the GIFA Wheels of Hope program, and empowered more than 5,000 women economically. At the anniversary of GIFA, Helen pledged to uphold her mother’s legacy.

Governor Eno prayed for her continued strength and wisdom in her role.
