TASUED Clarifies Honorary Awards Process Amid Gbenga Daniel Controversy

The university emphasized its tradition of conferring such awards on civilian governors of Ogun State and other distinguished individuals, including Olusegun Obasanjo, Aliko Dangote, and others.

The statement aims to set the record straight and clarify that the university's practice extends beyond state governors. TASUED's clarification comes amidst social media debates suggesting political disagreements between the state government and former governors.

The university is set to confer honorary doctorate degrees on Oluremi Tinubu, Dapo Abiodun, and Olusegun Osoba during its 17th convocation ceremony in January 2026.
