Ndume Exposes Kaigame's Ransom Demand Tactics

Ali Ndume, the lawmaker representing Borno South Senatorial District, recounted an alarming incident involving Samaila Kaigame, the purported leader of the Borno South Youth Alliance. In an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ on Tuesday, Ndume disclosed that Kaigame contacted him multiple times, asserting that Boko Haram was demanding a ransom of N5 billion for the release of kidnapped victims.

Kaigame pressured Ndume to contribute towards this ransom, threatening him by stating that his people were in captivity. Ndume expressed his suspicions regarding Kaigame's intentions, particularly when he was asked to contribute financially.

He firmly stated that he does not support the payment of ransom or negotiations with Boko Haram. Ndume also referenced past political implications, recalling an incident from 2011 where he was allegedly implicated due to a phone call from someone claiming to be associated with Boko Haram.

He noted contradictions in Kaigame's claims during the interview.
