Reno Omokri Apologizes to Bola Tinubu for Vile Remarks During 2023 Campaign

Ambassador-Designate Reno Omokri issued a public apology to Bola Tinubu for making defamatory remarks against him during the 2023 election campaign. Omokri had accused Tinubu of false claims, including being a drug lord and a certificate forger.

However, in an interview on a TV channel, Omokri retracted his previous statements and acknowledged Tinubu as the rightful winner of the 2023 presidential election. He confirmed that Tinubu did attend Chicago State University and apologized for the allegations of certificate forgery.

Omokri expressed remorse for his past actions and stated that he would work with Tinubu's administration. The apology came after a private meeting between Omokri and Tinubu in October 2024.
