Atiku Abubakar Denies Interest in OPL 245 Oil Block

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, publicly declared on Thursday that he has no interest in the OPL 245 oil block, asserting that his comments on the matter are driven solely by patriotism rather than personal gain. This statement was made in response to remarks from the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF Fagbemi, who suggested that Atiku's involvement in the OPL 245 discussions was motivated by self-interest.

Atiku, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accused the Attorney General of misleading the public and attempting to divert attention from more pressing issues. He called for greater transparency and accountability regarding the OPL 245 situation, criticizing the current administration under President Bola Tinubu for politicizing the issue.

Atiku urged the AGF to embrace a more open approach rather than resorting to what he termed "cheap propaganda.".
