Salawa Abeni Reflects on Marriage to Kollington Ayinla

Alhaja Salawa Abeni, a veteran Waka musician, spoke about her failed marriage to Fuji singer General Kollington Ayinla. In an interview shared by Daily Independent, she revealed that she tried to fulfill her responsibilities as a wife, but the marriage did not work out as she had hoped.

Abeni accepted the situation and decided to concentrate on her music career, which continued to flourish despite the challenges she faced in her personal life. She expressed gratitude for her professional achievements and acknowledged that while her marriage to Ayinla ended, he remains the father of their children.

Abeni stated, “Destiny can never be changed. I tried to be a wife, but unfortunately, it did not work out.

So, I decided to focus on my music career. I have children, and everybody knows that General Kollington Ayinla is their father.

The marriage did not work out, but my career did.”.
