Gov Okpebholo Criticizes Obaseki Over Lack of Transparency in Benin Museum Project

Governor Okpebholo of Edo State criticized Governor Obaseki for the lack of transparency surrounding the Museum of West African Art (MOWAA) project during a visit by European diplomats. Okpebholo expressed concerns about the handling of the project and emphasized the importance of transparency.

He mentioned that a committee has been set up to investigate the project thoroughly. The European diplomats, including EU Ambassador Gautier Mignot and German Ambassador Dr.

Annett Günther, visited the Benin City Government House and the Oba of Benin's palace. The EU clarified that they have no direct investment in MOWAA.

Okpebholo reaffirmed the commitment to accountability and due process in dealing with the project.
