Ex-APC Kano Guber Candidate Inuwa Waya Won't Contest in 2027 Elections, Calls for Party Unity

Inuwa Waya, former APC governorship candidate in Kano State, has declared that he will not run for governor in the 2027 general elections. Waya expressed his intention to support initiatives promoting unity and good governance in the state, urging the APC to form alliances with credible individuals or groups both within and outside the party.

He attributed the party's loss in the 2023 elections to poor leadership, lack of campaign coordination, and internal miscalculations. Waya emphasized the importance of genuine reform, discipline, and strategic planning for the APC to regain public trust and succeed in future elections.

He commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his development projects in Kano. Abdullahi Yusuf, a seasoned journalist, also retired on December 15, 2021.
