Bayelsa Governor Diri Won't Force Deputy to Join APC, Emphasizes Dialogue

Bayelsa State Governor Diri has declared that he will not compel his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, to defect to the APC, preferring dialogue and mutual understanding. Ewhrudjakpo had filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja to halt any impeachment moves by the Bayelsa State House of Assembly due to his refusal to defect.

Governor Diri assured residents of security amid alleged reports of armed men entering the state. He was also recognized by the Nigeria Governor Forum for health insurance services and by SWAN for his support of sports development.
