ICPC and Works Ministry Monitor ₦36 Trillion Road Projects Nationwide for Transparency

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Works has initiated a special monitoring exercise across Nigeria to track 760 federal road contracts worth ₦36 trillion. The exercise, which began on November 14, involves physical inspections, document verification, and performance assessments to ensure contractors deliver quality roads for the funds disbursed.

The goal is to enhance fiscal discipline, monitor project execution, prevent wastage of public resources, and promote cost-effective infrastructure delivery. The ICPC team will scrutinize contract inflations, poor execution, and non-compliance with financial agreements to recover misused public funds.
