Igbo Elders Call for Immediate Release of Nnamdi Kanu Over Health Concerns

Igbo elders from the United Igbo Elders Council Worldwide have urged President Bola Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), citing his failing health. Kanu has been detained since 2015 on charges of treason and terrorism, despite multiple court rulings in his favor.

The group highlighted Kanu's deteriorating health condition, including dangerously low potassium levels that could lead to heart failure. They accused past administrations of targeting the Igbo community.
